What specialist teaching offers
Clear, step-by-step, multisensory teaching to support reading, spelling, writing and understanding.
Lessons are tailored to your child's needs, pace and learning style.
A calm, non-judgemental environment where your child can learn without pressure.
Memory, organisation and independent learning strategies are built alongside literacy skills.
Who I teach
I support KS1 and KS2 pupils with phonics, reading, spelling and writing; KS3 students with comprehension, inference and written structure; and KS4 students with revision strategies, exam preparation and organising ideas.
Pre-tuition assessment
Before tuition begins, I carry out an initial assessment to understand your child's current level, identify gaps and create a targeted programme. This looks closely at phonics, spelling development, high-frequency word reading and spelling, sentence construction, writing and reading difficulties.
Where tuition happens
- Your home, if there is a quiet learning space and you are within 30 minutes of Glastonbury.
- My setting in Glastonbury.
- In some cases, during the school day by prior agreement with the school.
What parents say
"Suzy is amazing. My son is really enjoying his tuition and, for the first time, feels he is learning. She has already helped him organise his thoughts and build confidence in his writing. Highly recommended."
NM"My son has only recently started with Suzy, but he has already understood more in a few sessions than he has in years at school. Suzy has a real talent for making things clear and easy to grasp. Friendly, calm, and highly recommended."
Parent, Somerset area"Suzy has supported my daughter with GCSE English and made a real difference in a short time. Her confidence and understanding have both improved, and her recent mock result reflects that progress. Suzy is approachable, knowledgeable, and always well prepared - I would highly recommend her."
